Intellectual Output 2

The goal of the Intellectual Output 2 was a research on top employability skills sought for in candidates by their employers.This output was conducted by Universum Global. 

The purpose of the given study was to identify various soft skills sought for in candidates in the process of recruitment. After identifying these top soft skills, the collected results were cross-studied with data containing strengths and development needs of the Generation Y students. The main goal was to find the gap between what is sought for by organizations and what students can offer. This study was effectuated by administering a survey that questions hiring managers of NGOs and public and private sector organizations on specific soft skills sought for in recent university graduates. The findings constitutes the core of skill development trainings that will be organized within the project and will be reported in the relevant chapters of the Gen Y's Guide.

Employer Survey Preparation and Implementation

A survey was designed by Universum to identify top 5 soft skills that employers look for in recent graduates. Quantitative survey of 1,299 recruiters and managers based on qualitative research was performed.  200 employers in different sectors will be asked to rank soft skills (self-management, leadership, innovation, problem solving capacities, communication, creativity,) in terms of their importance for their respective organizations and the specific position within their organizations.

The survey results were analyzed by Universum.
