Understanding Gen Y Staff Training

As “Generation Y’s Virtual Guide to Skill Development and Personal Branding in Social Media” project aims to better serve the Generation Y requirements in terms of career services, a special training was organized to equip higher education institutions’ staff with skills necessary to meet the expectations and needs of the Generation Y. During the training, the participants were introduced to key characteristics of the Generation Y as well as various communication methods used by the members of the given generation. All partners of the Gen Y project participated in the training.

Employability Skills Development Boot Camp

In the framework of this Project, “Employability Skill Development Boot Camp” for University students was conducted. 30 students from different countries participated in a number of trainings / workshops to develop employability skills. Activitiy 1 Orientation Day An orientation program was organized specially tailored to new international students. The orientation is designed to help students settle into the camp. They will also receive a brief training on “Cultural Awareness” to assist with their adaptation process. Activity 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 Trainings for Employability Skill Development Based on the results of top employability skills identified by employers, special trainings on 5 soft skills (i.e., teamwork, positive attitude, communication, reliability, responsibility) were organized during the 4 day long Boot Camp.

Personal Branding and Effective Use of Social Media Boot Camp

In the framework of this Project, a special “Personal Branding & Effective Use of Social Media Boot Camp” for University students was conducted. 30 students from different countries participated in a number of trainings / workshops on personal branding and effective use of social media. Activity 1 Effective CV Writing Workshops (CV Clinic). This workshop focused on: • reflecting students’ skills and experience on their CVs, allowing the candidate to be more visible on the European labour market • writing a CV according to Europass Standard • leveraging the CV as a marketing tool with personal branding techniques. Activity 2 ‘Managing your Personal Brand’ Training The aim of this training was to teach students how to manage their personal brands. Activity 3 ‘Using Social Media for Job Hunting’ Training The aim of this training was to teach students how to: • effectively use social media and networking sites in job seeking • market themselves to future employers through social media
